7th grade math teacher

A current resident of Newark, Monique was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a B.S. in Biology and also obtained a M.A .in Cosmetic Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She recently graduated from Montclair State University’s Prudential Teaching Scholars project, a program preparing individuals with strong mathematics and science background to become effective and innovative teachers. During this program, she received her Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education with a specialization in Mathematics K-8. Monique is currently pursuing an M.A.T. in Elementary Education at Montclair State University with an expected completion date of May 2011.

Before beginning her career in the field of education, Monique worked in Research and Development for L’Oreal, making hair care and body care products. She is married and has two children.
